What is Inner Alarm System Work?

The Inner Alarm System is a framework I developed for exploring patterns of stress, trauma, and emotional responses that may remain active long after the circumstances that triggered them have passed. I use this framework in my Crisis Recovery & Trauma Resolution sessions.

The concept was inspired in part by my exploration of the work of Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer and German New Medicine (GNM), particularly the idea of the body responding to significant experiences through biological “conflict” responses. From there, I developed my own framework for working with what I call inner alarms.

The Inner Alarm System is not GNM, nor is it intended to reproduce or practice the GNM approach. It is my own way of organizing and exploring the concept of unresolved alarms and the patterns they may create.

Our bodies are designed to respond to situations that require our attention. When something feels threatening, overwhelming, or unsafe, an internal alarm can help us respond. Sometimes, however, that alarm response can continue after the original situation is over. We may find ourselves reacting to situations that remind us of the original experience, experiencing recurring emotional patterns, or remaining on alert even when we consciously know that we are safe.

The Inner Alarm System provides a way to explore these patterns and identify potential unresolved alarms that may still be active or pending.

How Do Inner Alarm Systems Work?

We begin with a concern, pattern, or situation you would like to explore. Rather than assuming that every recurring response comes from the same type of experience, I use the assessment process to determine what may be relevant for you.

An alarm may relate to something that happened in the past, something that is happening now, or a situation that your system anticipates may happen. The assessment can also help identify the particular aspect of an experience that may have left an alarm active.

From there, we work through the appropriate process for addressing the alarm.

The goal isn’t to force an alarm to turn off or to revisit every difficult experience you’ve ever had. The process follows what your system indicates is ready to be addressed.

Active and Pending Alarms

One of the concepts within the Inner Alarm System is the difference between pending alarms.

An active alarm may be associated with something that continues to affect you in the present. A pending alarm may be connected to an experience or circumstance that your system has identified as requiring attention, even though it may not feel immediately active.

This distinction helps provide a broader way of looking at recurring patterns. Sometimes the situation itself is no longer happening, but something about the experience may still be keeping the alarm response in place.

What Can Inner Alarm Systems Explore?

The framework can be used to explore a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Recurring emotional or stress patterns
  • Reactions that seem stronger than the present situation would suggest
  • Experiences that continue to affect you after they have ended
  • Trauma-related patterns
  • Feeling continually “on alert”
  • Situations that repeatedly trigger the same response
  • Stress that seems difficult to release
  • Patterns that keep returning despite attempts to change them
  • Physical or emotional responses associated with stressful experiences
  • And other situations where an unresolved alarm may be relevant

The concern doesn’t have to fit neatly into one category. The assessment determines whether an Inner Alarm may be relevant and, if so, where to explore.

A Process That Follows the Individual

Inner Alarm System Work isn’t a predetermined sequence that everyone works through in the same way. Each person’s history and responses are different, so the process needs to remain responsive to the individual.

I don’t need to decide ahead of time which alarm is responsible or what needs to be addressed first.

I can listen, test, and allow the process to show us where to begin.

Some people may identify a single area that can be addressed in one session. Others may discover that there are several related alarms or patterns that need to be explored over time.

The Crisis Recovery & Trauma Resolution session uses this framework to explore and address potential unresolved alarms in a structured, individualized way.

Assisting Clients World-Wide

The Tinker’s Moon has worked with clients from many different locations and backgrounds, and I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world.

One of the things I value most about this work is getting to know the person behind the session. Every person brings their own experiences, circumstances, questions, and perspective, and I don’t believe in approaching people as though there is one answer or one approach that fits everyone.

My work is offered with respect for each person’s individual circumstances, beliefs, experiences, and pace. Whether you are coming with a specific concern, exploring a long-standing pattern, or simply curious about what a session might reveal, you are welcome here.

I encourage you to take some time to explore the website and learn more about me and the way I work. If you have questions that aren’t answered here, you’re welcome to contact me before ordering. There is no pressure to decide that a session is right for you simply because you’ve reached out.

My hope is that you will have enough information to make a decision that feels right for you.
