Morning Peacefulness

For the past few weeks, I’ve been using some personal affirmations, elemental/directional statements, parts of the Prayer of St. Francis, and paraphrases of the Reiki Principles during my meditation.  It helps me focus my meditation and provides positive statements for my mind to dwell on.  And it’s made a big difference in my mental outlook in just a few short weeks.

I’ve had time over the past few days to listen to some Abraham Hicks sound clips on YouTube … you gotta love the wealth of information that’s on YouTube.  Anyway, I’m working on a short list of meaningful statements to use during my devotional time which will allow me to focus on even more positive results.  One of my favorites is “everything always works out for me”.  I figured if I started a list and rotated it every month that I could work on lots of affirmations and statements over the course of a year.

Oh, I could write them on a piece of paper and carry them with me and hope I remembered to say them during the day.  Even so, would I be focused on the statement or would my mind be wandering off in a thousand directions thinking about what I needed to do next?  By using my prayer beads or rosary, I am quietly and intentionally focused, and the clarity of mind makes believing those statements easier (when we believe it we see it).  This unencumbered, focused intent allows new thought patterns or pathways to develop in my subconscious and enables me to more easily rewrite the outdated coding or programming that no longer serves me.  Ahhhh … another statement … I easily release that which no longer serves me.

I’m breathing easier and deeper than I was a few weeks ago.  I’ve noticed the tension in my jaw is mostly gone now.  My anxiety is subsiding and I haven’t noticed a panic attack in a while.  My shoulders are relaxed and my stomach isn’t upset all the time and my blood pressure is lower and much more stable (as is my heart rate).  The only thing I’ve changed is that I’ve incorporated meditation with my prayer beads into my morning routine/quiet time.  Yes, I have to get up earlier, but it is so totally worth it.  Next is getting up a little earlier so I can get in 15-20 minutes of yoga.
