Discerning Energy Healing: Seeking God’s Truth in Wellness
Many people explore energy healing—like acupuncture, Reiki, or other holistic techniques—to restore balance and promote well-being. But as Christians, it’s important to ask: Does this align with my faith?
Some believe energy healing taps into spiritual forces outside of God, making it potentially dangerous. Others see all true healing as coming from God, the Creator of all life. The key question isn’t just whether something “works,” but what its foundation is and who gets the credit for the healing.
Scripture reminds us that God is the source of all life and healing. Acts 17:28 says, “For in Him we live and move and have our being.” That means any real, lasting healing must ultimately come from Him. However, not every healing practice aligns with His truth. This is why researching the roots of a technique is crucial. If a method is built on the spiritual beliefs of another religion—especially one that contradicts biblical teaching—it may not be something a Christian should engage in.
At the same time, fear shouldn’t be our guiding force—discernment should. We must be careful not to give the enemy more power than he actually has. While some healing methods may have concerning roots, others may simply be tapping into natural, God-given processes. The key is prayerfully seeking wisdom to determine what aligns with biblical truth.
When considering an energy healing practice, ask yourself:
- Where did this method originate?
- What spiritual beliefs is it based on?
- Does it acknowledge God as the source of healing?
By staying rooted in faith, seeking wisdom, and keeping God at the center, we can confidently navigate wellness practices without fear—trusting in His ultimate authority over healing.
