Many religious teachings tell us to take our thought captive … and with good reason.  The more we think about something, the more we begin to resonate with those thoughts, feelings, and emotions.  It’s like trying to tune in a radio station.  The close we get to the frequency, the better our reception.  So the more we tune in to those non-beneficial thoughts, the more we resonate at that particular frequency and the more intense the feeling becomes. So back to releasing the built up “stuff”.  I had some quiet music in the background and I acknowledged that I was feeling these things.  Then I set an intention to release them (one by one) through all space, dimension, and reality.  I held the intention individually for each one until I felt the release.  For me that typically means I have felt a build of energy that culminates in a deep, cleansing breath after which I can feel some of the tension release from my upper back, neck, and shoulders.  I then take a couple more deep breaths and ask to be filled with love and light, grace and ease … and move on to the next one. It sounds like a long process, but it really doesn’t take very long at all.  Within about 5 minutes, I no longer had those intense feelings of being lost and confused.  I’ll be honest, I don’t feel rarin’ and ready to tackle my long to-do list, but that stifling, almost paralyzing feeling was gone and I could think more clearly.  Clearly enough to put together this quick little post. So when you can label a non-beneficial thought, feeling, emotion or even a belief … take a few minutes and see if you can release it.  Maybe you’re feeling helpless and like you have no control.  Or maybe you are angry and afraid of what may be happening or are worried about your job or your family.  You have much more power than you realize to change the inner environment (your thoughts) which can then change your outer environment (the world around you … your home life, your job, etc). You’ll find more information about clearing your own trapped emotions at this link.  If you feel too overwhelmed to tackle this for yourself right now, I’d be glad to help.  You can learn more about the different services I offer at this link.  It would be an honor and a privilege to work with you.
